So here are some closer shots of the mystery conifer. Any ideas?
One thing I have ascertained is that it's not particularly drought-tolerant. With the exception of Metasequoia and Taxodium I have erred on the side of under-watering all the conifers. But this dude is shedding needles all over the place, so I guess it needs a bit more water!
I'm not used to trees shedding their needles on such a large scale, but I'm guessing there's nothing for it but to trim back the now naked branches.
